Our Story
Scott County Pride started with a simple idea: everyone deserves to feel seen, safe, and celebrated where they live. While the Twin Cities metro has long had LGBTQIA+ resources and Pride celebrations, that same infrastructure hasn't existed here in Scott County — so a group of us decided to build it ourselves.
Where We Are Now
We're a brand new, volunteer-led organization, currently fiscally sponsored by Upstream Works Collaborative as we work toward becoming our own nonprofit. We're building the foundation piece by piece — hosting community gatherings, connecting with local organizations, and growing a network of people who believe Scott County deserves this kind of space.
Where We're Headed
Our vision is big: a full-scale Pride event right here in Scott County in fall of 2027. But we're getting there the same way we're doing everything else — one connection, one gathering, one volunteer at a time.
What to Expect
Our events happen in all kinds of spaces around Scott County — restaurants, community centers, outdoor spaces, and more — and each one looks a little different. Some are family-friendly and open to all ages; others may require guests to be 21 or older to attend, even though we don't provide alcohol or other substances ourselves.
We also know that not every space feels neutral for everyone. We understand that LGBTQIA+ folks may carry complicated histories with places like houses of worship. We choose spaces based on what's available, run by supportive people, and willing to host us — and we recognize that's not the same as every space feeling safe or comfortable for everyone.
Each event listing will include the venue, age requirements (if any), and anything else you might want to know ahead of time — so you can decide what works for you. And if you ever have questions about a specific event, just reach out. We're always happy to talk it through.
